My name is James Scott. In 2016, I began a journey to hike the Appalachian Trail. Over the course of six months, I covered just over a thousand miles, from Springer Mountain in Georgia to Harper’s Ferry, West Virginia. Over the course of the journey, I lost a hundred pounds, read several dozen books, and wrote almost every day. This site holds my journal entries along the way, and my written thoughts now that I’ve come out the other side. You’ll hear about places I’ve hiked, views I’ve seen, and ideas I’ve come across.
