July 25th

Today I hiked from Blackhorse Gap to Bobblet’s Gap Shelter, a distance of 4.9 miles. I have had no energy today, which I think is due to the heat. I sat down for several breaks, feeling worn out and beaten. I spoke with a woman who stopped at one of the road crossings to give me water and she commented that it was 100 degrees out. Thankfully the shelter has a box spring so I could refill. A storm came in this evening which will help the water situation and hopefully cool things off. I’ve also felt very down lately, wanting to go home sooner rather than later. I have to hold on, but I haven’t felt this dragged down in a while. We’ll see what the rest of the week holds
