My name is James Scott. In 2016, I began a journey to hike the Appalachian Trail. Over the course of six months, I covered just over a thousand miles, from Springer Mountain in Georgia to Harper’s Ferry, West Virginia. In that time, I lost a hundred pounds, read several dozen books, and wrote almost every day. This site holds my journal entries along the way, and my written thoughts now that I’ve come out the other side. You’ll hear about places I’ve hiked, views I’ve seen, and ideas I’ve come across.
I was born in the small town of Marion, Ohio, where I bounced around several schools. I moved first to Cincinnati, Ohio to attend Cincinnati Bible College in 1999, then drifted southwards to Kentucky, where I spend most of my days reading and writing, as well as finding as many things to get involved with as possible.
